I have fond memories of having an old scout 2, taking it through the woods and mud. It didn't go anywhere fast, but it went damn near anywhere. Only had a four banger engine, but that thing was bulletproof. Looked like someone took a V8 and chopped it in half.

    These more to your liking?

Don’t have a cup of hot coffee in your hand when you look at the prices lest you spill it and burn yourself.

    They are a local company.

Looks like a drug cartel's dream fleet.

Oh wow. This will probably make the prices of originals just skyrocket.

This is a bit like Colt…..once CZ came in and bought them, it turned around and demand spiked for models. Originals are still sought after, but now you have two distinct camps….old timers and new comers. The brand just ain’t the same though. This will happen with Scout.

My uncle had an old scout. Cosmetically ok but not very reliable, probably needed some electrical work, ran fine once started. He offered to give it to me after high school but I was in college living in dorms and didn’t have a place to keep it. He ended up selling it cheap. Always wished I could have kept it. He has a 50 something Pontiac that I’ll probably end up with some day but honestly rather have the scout!

I think I would just buy a new Corvette ,new Tahoe and new Silverado Instead. The left over money would pay for a pretty good boat to go with them.

Only one reason that manufacturers step back from a vehicle - they aren’t making any money on them. Nobody is buying them and them exploding is a liability.
No one buying them is certainly top of the list! The fact there aren't enough raw materials in the planet to replace all the current gas vehicles is another, China owning almost the entire supply chain to manufacture them is another. It's always been a first-world, upper-class "look at how I'm saving the planet" flex, but no one flying the "green" flag wanted to admit it.
