The guns in my safe are unloaded for now. But I always have a Glock 17 on my hip, open to view, locked and loaded. At night, it's locked in a holster and placed high enough my three year can't access it but close enough I can get it immediately. As soon as I wake up, it goes into the locked bathroom on the counter while I shower, then on my hip once I'm dressed, to remain there until I get in bed again at night. In public, I let my shirt hang over it (usually).
