Was doing some scouting yesterday and found this. It is a line of rubs that were made by hogs coming from the absolute best wallow that they could find. The extremely light deposits of clay were from a gray/white clay(potters clay)wallow. I suspect that the wallow is somewhere down in a older juniper swamp that I have hunted around but never got down into.

This type of clay is great for the hogs because it is easy to form, maintains its shape,is easily deposited on the animals, sticks to them like glue, and maintains the scent when rubbed on a tree or brush. I found a "line" of these marks kind like a deers rub line.

I hung the old beer can on one tree for ref. The cuts above the clay are over waist high. It was gettin late in the day when I found these. Will go back with my carbine(Ruger Mini 6.8) and find where the hogs are coming from. --- SAWMAN
