Has 2 main screws, 2 bottom set screws and one top screw through a tab.
All screws are out. I've pried on the split in the handguard and opened it up. The little tab up top moves freely back and forth. Handguard won't budge. It can't unscrew because the tab goes over the upper on each side. Has to slide off but I can't get it.
All factory Adams arms gas piston upper.
I would like to switch out the handguard on this and I'm stumped

Have you tried using a heat gun?
I don't want to sound dumb or arrogant, what will heat do for me? I've got it to push back and forth about an 1/8 inch now. It's like something is still holding it. Not sure if Adams has some type of special handshake to get this off or what.

Is there a piece between the bottom holes like the midwest industries hand guards?

Heat expands metal making is slightly more loose and also, of there's any glue or grease that's hardened, it may help break that up.
Or just hit it with your purse! Hahaha
