I like the TLR3. Which ever light you decide upon -- make sure and shoot a bunch with the light installed. Some lights have been the root cause of malfunctions and firearm failures when they've been needed the most!
Personally....for the above reason(f&s post above), AND for the simple fact that you have to sweep/point your ready to fire weapon at anything that you want to light up/ID. To me....bad idea. You hear a bump in the night. You grab your firearm and start down the hall. You see a shadow and point your weapon to ID it. You find yourself pointing your ready to fire weapon at your 12 year old daughter. Also a light directly attached to a weapon is akin to tracer ammo. It gives your adversary an aiming point. And...what if you choose a revo as your SD/HD weapon. Where do you attach a light to that ??
I want to have the option of holding the light away from my body if the situation dictates it. Learn the proper way to shoot with your revo/pistol with a "free roaming" light. IMO it will give you more options for usage of your light. --- SAWMAN
I just bought the NEBO protec elite for 50 at Walmart today. Aluminum frame, 190 lumens, looks just like the TLR. Very solid light at a fraction of the cost, fits good on my G22. Check it out
