FBI Training video on the Miami shootout and the LA Bank Robbery shootout.

Two bad guys (only one real shooter) eight FBI Agents. Agents: 2 KIA, five critical WIA, one uninjured. Bad guys: two KIA: one minor shooter, prime bad guy that shot all the agents was hit 12 times with .38, .377, 9mm, 12ga 00 buck. Was not terminated till shot point blank in the head. over 140 rounds fired. Due to this incident the FBI started looking for a better handgun an cartridge. Prime consideration was for the .45 and 9mm but FBI not willing to change for minor improvements and lopsided trade-offs. First selected was the 10mm (full power) then a 10mm reduced power load and finally the .40 S&W.

All this happened and police were still not prepared for the LA bank robbery shootout a decade later.

Yep, they had the perfect self defense cartridge in the full power 10mm Auto "Norma load" - 170gr at 1300fps/636ftlbs. Because of a few "girly-man" accountant & lawyer FBI agents who couldn't handle the S&W 1076 pistol -- the 10mm Auto was downloaded (most factory 10mm ammo still is to this day) to what eventually became the .40 S&W (short & weak).

WOW thanks for sharing.That second video is wild> I mean 45 mins is a lifetime for a gun fight. And I think they said there were @350 Officers there and 2 bad guys? So why did no one take some head shots? And swat showed up and didnt bring a sniper to head shot first thing??What if there had been 5 bad guys?And how could u miss a head with buck shot from 20ft away??The bad guys where just walking around in the open like it was a laser tag game......

If i ever get into a gun fight i hope the opposing threat is half as bad of a shot for even 5 mins.
