The DPMS Oracle is a decent AR for the money, but unless it is going to be a scope only AR, it is not practical. I would look for something like this Del-Ton carbine.

With pricing the way it is today, you can pick up a S&W M&P15 Sport for around $550-$625 depending on who has it.

I would guess any AR will always be worth 500.00, as long as it shoots well.

I have one of these and is very accurate with handloads. Actually put nightvision on mine for coyotes and other varmits. Damn good deal.
