I'm hoping to get this thing finished today. Nothing like trying to stretch sheet poly by yourself in 25 kt winds.

    I used 1 1/4" PVC 20' plus another 3.5' added to each end, for a 9.5' center clearence. The footprint is 16' X 28.5'.

I saw this thing last Friday night and was extremely impressed with the elegance of the design.

Rick, I can't get away from work but if you can hold off until Saturday I can be there at 8:00 AM to help with the barn raisin'.

Neat! I always want to learn how to garden and grow stuff, but I have a hard time trying to keep things alive in a stand alone pot let alone an entire garden.

Thanks, the plastic will first be stapled in place on the ridge then secured with a piece of treated lattice and screws, so I can remove it next spring. The bottom of the long runs will probably just be staped to the lattice and screwed to the bottom plate so it can be unscrewed and rolled up on the lattice for use next winter.

As for the ends, well I'm still scratching my head but I think I'll screw several strips worth of lattice to the inside of the end PVCs, then frame something up and sheet and lattice it.

Wish I could wait Sean but it's supposed to get close to freezing tonight, which means closer to 30 here, and the trees are uncovered. I appreciate the offer and the help last week.

Pretty cool. Had to cover a few of my plants a couple of times the last couple of weeks and always consider something similar to what you did.

I wouldn't try it. First you'll start off with just a few plants, then next year maybe add a few more, before you know it you're tilling up your whole backyard and building structures to keep them nice and cozy during the long winter nights.

But seriously, if you've never had fresh from the garden english peas, new potatoes and sweet corn you don't know what you're missing. There's nothing else that comes close.

Worked till 1830 hrs last night, fighting the 15-20 kt gust, but I got it covered, sealed and the heater going, and it didn't freeze. Oh well, better safe...............................

Sorry I couldn't get over there Rick.

Yep, I've tasted a few things from Rick's little farm. Everything was far superior to store bought. You for got to mention fruit Rick. I handed my wife that Tangerine you told me to give her and she raved about the taste!
