If you take the time to read all the forums about people shooting deer with a .243 and not recovering them, you will wisely eliminate the .243 from your list. 7MM-08 is a good pick.

Now, all you .243 true believers,...... pile on.

Another vote for the 7mm-08 . Accurate , efficent , doesn't kick bad & @ 300yds has more power than the 243 . The 270 is a fine caliber & if longer shots were the rule would be my pick . FWIW my hunting rifles are : Rem 700 in 30/06 , Browning A Bolt in 7mm-08 , Mauser 98 Custom in 6.5X55AI , Win 70 Custom in 358Win & Anschutz 1451 Sporter 22lr .

I have one of each. The 270 is the easiest one to find ammo for, followed by 243 with 7mm-08 following.

From the 3, I like the 270 better.

I'd take a 6.5-06/260 or a 25-06 over all of them any day.

It's really more about the ammo than the caliber these days. There is some seriously good performing stuff like the Barnes tsx or Hornady gmx. I wouldn't think twice about taking a whitetail with .223 if it was 100 yards or less with either of those bullets. .270 is good for pretty much any game walking North America other than a Grizzly.

I would say what ever she shoots best.
