    $2500

Smooth patina, mechanically excellent, some pitting in bore..... 2 cracks in buttstock, one an old repair. 3x,xxx serial number, putting date of manufacture in 1863.
This has been in various family closets for the last 100+ years.
Buffalo Arms actually makes a conversion kit to center fire for this, supposedly a drop in (if you have a Dremel and 4 or 5 hours to spare)
Might trade for high end stuff, cash either way.

"The damn yankee rifle that you can load on Sunday and shoot all week." I used to own a Spencer, the Navy Model with the long barrel and bayonet lug. I was crazy to sell it. Yours is the carbine model. It almost certainly saw action in the civil war, "the war of yankee aggression." It would be interesting if you could document its history. GLWS

All I know is that it came from my Mom's side, and they were from Savannah.... a rich old southern family. She got it after her dad died in 1956. He was a retired lifer in the US Army (ret 1948).
