Mick, a Texas bulldog, has been guarding this summer the home of the owners father in a crime ridden neighbor near the Arizona-Mexican border.

In the words of his proud owner:
The blue house behind my Dad's house in the background used to be used for drug deals and the neighborhood was overrun by thugs but in the last month Mick here has been working security. He has guarded, patrolled, chased, cornered, stopped break-ins, interrupted drug deals, found drug stashes, harassed and basically destroyed the thug biz that had gone on for years.Mick's work is done. The punks haven't been around here for weeks and the blue house sold and is being renovated. It's amazing what a good dog can do for a neighborhood. All that's left for Mick is chewing on the bones.

Great dog. Hopefully the family is watching out for him with equal effort. To the coward criminals, an effective K-9 will have a higher price on its head than a two-legged member of the "pack".

Thanks for sharing the story. :)

This post is from the white english preservation society FB page and it was a concern for many that the thugs might shoot or poison him. It did not happen and while details were not provided the Dog's owner was armed and vigilant. Mick is not a K-9 because he was never trained and is only doing what he was bred to do. His family had been breeding a family line of bulldogs in texas going back the the 19th century and it involved crosses with old time spanish bulldogs out of Mexico. Mick and his litter members are likely the last of that line. His owner wants to cross Mick with a white english which are also getting hard to find without being crossbred with more modern dogs. Real WE still exist in Georgia and Alabama and probably in other southern locals.
