I got a chance to try out some subsonic 308 loads that a forum member shared with me. I was pleased with the results
If you are talking about a nikon 3/9 with BDC, try the cross hairs dead on at 50 and use the 2nd circle at 100 that will get you close.
Since this is a reloading forum can you give some details on the load. Projectile wt and type: cast or jacketed. Type of powder and the wt. Also the velocity. The type of power is most important. In longer cases like the 30-06 there are stories of very light loads of progressive powders spiking pressures way up there.I got a chance to try out some subsonic 308 loads that a forum member shared with me. If they were loads that I worked up I'd be more than happy to do that, but they were given to me by another member and I feel like I should get his permission before I post them .I have some that are pretty good using trail boss, I will post those if you'd like . They are pretty good but are a little dirty. I also have a light bullet load for a 300 BLK that's very accurate in three deferent bolt action rifles . It is as follows 6.2 grains of trail boss in LC brass made from a once fired 556 case I use a 7 1/2 Remington primer and a 125 grain prohunter Sierra bullet. I seat the bullet even with the bottom of the case neck. This load shoots around the one inch mark in a AAC 700 Remington, a ruger American ranch rifle, and a CZ 527 all three of these rifles have a fast twist rate. But shoot the light bullet pretty well.Since this is a reloading forum can you give some details on the load. Projectile wt and type: cast or jacketed. Type of powder and the wt. Also the velocity. The almost movie quiet is without a silencer? If they were loads that I worked up I'd be more than happy to do that, but they were given to me by another member and I feel like I should get his permission before I post them .I have some that are pretty good using trail boss, I will post those if you'd like . Yes sir , it was . Thank you
No criticism of your work which if the rifle produces 0.5 MOA is quite good. I just wonder why the owner is happy with low end .357 pistol ballistics out of a .308. Why not go with a 220 or 250 gr bullet at 1000 fps. That was the goal of the .300 whisper subsonic loadings. This was developed for a client that uses a Remington 700 SPS tactical 308 (20" 1 in 10 twist). Used almost exclusively for hog hunting out to 150 yds.
Federal case
Federal 210 primer
Sierra 150 gr prohunter bullet (#2130)
Trailboss @ 9.5 gr (velocity 1075 fps)
Producing sub 3/4 moa @ 100 yds.
This was specificly designed for his gun. But it should be a good starting point for any interested.

I agree... I use a 220 gr .308 round nose bullet and a 180 gr for fun on the .308 subs. Trailboss is way too much money. 700x produces the same results for way less.
How about cast bullets?
