      Anyone using HyTek bullet coatings ?

      I had good luck with using mineral spirits to remove the lube from some cast bullets when I first started my powder-coating. Took a little work and time to get them clean, but had no problem with the powder coating process. I am not familiar with the Hytek method.

      Thanks for the info. I happened to be in a gun shop today and there on display was a live 50BMG just like the ones I found, only it had been cleaned up a bit. I think I will just carefully clean these up and set them on my work bench out of normal reach.

      The Eastwood Company. It's more expensive but much better quality than the Harbor freight stuff. I use the "shake and bake" method. Not perfect, but it works and doesn't waste the powder.

      You got my attention, so I just ordered one of the molds from Midway. I have been casting some 358-158 RNFP and really like the way they look and perform. I will try these lighter ones and also size some for 9mm. BTW I have been powder-coating these recently instead of lubing.
