I log in to Gunbroker and pick advanced search to look for competed sales for the identical pistol. The average selling price becomes my asking price. On a FTF deal the buyer gets to avoid the shipping cost, sales tax and transfer fee. I get to avoid the GB selling fee.
I have a Colt 1911 that has a dual crimp Millett front sight (installed many yrs ago). I need to replace the sight. Is there anyone who still has the tools to install Millett sights?
Have a Series 70 Colt 1911 that I would like to install a low profile BOMAR style rear sight on and replace the front sight with a proper height sight (stake or dovetail). Anybody local (NW Fl) that does that sort of work? If not local, can you recommend a mail off gunsmith to do the slide cut?
Looking for a good to excellent condition Savage model 1907, 1915, or 1917 pistol (Prefer .380acp). Cash deal. My only possible trade gun would be a stainless Walther PPK + cash.
Looking for an original S&W Performance Center Schofield. Not looking for a clone (already have a Uberti). Cash sale or take my Uberti as partial trade or my Walther stainless PPK. Prefer 5" blue.
Go to GunBroker and click find an FFL. Enter your zip code and it will list a bunch of FFLs in your area and their cost for a transfer. The costs are not always updated but you can contact the dealer and get his current charges.
Did the smith have an explanation on why it's unsafe to fire. Not every "smith" is really competent to make that determination. Some are professionally trained with lots of experience. Others are self taught and just "dabble".
