Of course I'm the guy who dreams of sneaking into one of those S&W Revolver or Colt Collectors conventions with all those mint / new in box / untouched without glove weapons… when no one is there, with a case of assorted ammo and having my way with ALL OF THEM!!!!! I'd just load and shoot them all in random directions, it would be GLORIOUS!!!!

I tend to buy used ones an only have 4 collectable fire arms, and they're shooter grade. I make a conscious effort to use them for hunting to justify their place in my collection. ( even the spaceguns) You can only have so many " cannibal gas looter shooters" before it starts to get a bit ridiculous. Had over 12 AR's various calibers now knocked down to 2 in 223 . One dedicated nv rifle ( Diamondback)and one gp hunting rifle (R15).
I do have some that are just play toys for now.

I have had a lot of impulse buys, and some collector grade ones also. The only reason I have owned a gun I didn't shoot was because ammo was not available to me at the time. I can't imagine owning a gun I don't intend to shoot; I have to know their pleasure firsthand.

Same, last year I bought two nice ones, both very LNIB, barely used if ever. Winchester 9244 "Trapper" 22S-L-LR and Colt SAA 357 Mag 4-3/4. I got what you'd consider a great deal on the Trapper and Fair deal on the SAA.

Me and my kids love the 9422 - put a gloss Weaver 1-3x on and it's a hoot - one of the instant favorites. I've shot the SAA several times and it's a joy to shoot and to have.

Both spent far too much time in the confines of someone's safe and now get to breath free and shoot often!!!!
