Looking for a friend! He's not on the forum and knows I have some connections here, so he asked me to help find him something. He went to a few gun shops, but nothing suited him or was out of $$ range. This will be a safe-queen if that makes any sense and will only be used "in case"....... so he's not looking for something fancy or dolled up - just a good ole AK that works when it needs to..... He said he was in the $500 to $800 range, but was open if something made sense to him.

    Whatcha Got?

Stay away from the IO stuff and new Century junk with cast parts... easy to tell because they have no Bayo Lugs and most have a cut out in the safety lever for bolt hold open.

If he's never going to use it, and it's going to be a safe Queen, then spend the extra $500 and find him a mint Russian SKS or a Mak90 or maybe even a VEPR. Something that can sling lead and has already been shown to be doubling in value. He'll thank you when the rifle pays for his trip to Maui in his old age, or maybe even pays for a grandchilds wedding. There's a couple of Mak90's for sale at Grey Man on Stewart Street in Milton as of a few days ago
