Automatic 45acp carbine machine gun. Has a 30 round magazine or a 100 round drum. If you watch any old gangster movies (and I mean Al Capone type gangster), its the one they pull out from their trench coat and hip fire at full auto. Also was an officer's issued rifle in WWII if I remember right.

As much as I love 45acp, If I'm gonna shoot something that big, I'd want more power and range.
Though, at the time of its introduction , it was pretty amazing.

Badass for sure, but it has been surpassed as a defensive weapon.

Just my personal and biased opinion.

They were - if I'm not mistaken, the prevalence of the Thompson among criminals is partly what led up to the NFA. I could be wrong, though.
