Something to think about. - ->
Depending on the chambering, some guns will suffer from "flame cutting" if you constantly use ammo in the weapon that is too short for the chamber.
    The examples are 38Spec in a 357Mag gun and 44Spec in a 44 Mag gun. Another example is using 45LC in a 410shotgun chamber,and 45ACP or 45LC in a 460 S&W mag chamber.
Think about how/where the mouth of the shorter brass is positioned in the chamber, when the 2000 degree+ gases are released.
Shooting these rds over and over again builds up a ring of hard carbon inside the cylinder.
It can USUALLY be removed by using some rather harsh chemicals and a good scrubbing with a copper or bronze brush. However, depending on how many shots fired, and the makeup of the reloads,I have seen revo's that the ring is permanently etched in the chamber/cylinder walls.
If I wanted a higher end 44Spec ... that is exactly what I would get.
It will most likely be a little more expensive than a 44Mag,but to me ... WORTH IT. --- SAWMAN

I picked one of these up from a Cabela's gun library a couple of years ago.

I realize 44 mags are easier to come by and I have several in longer barrel lengths and I may consider one in a short barrel but would prefer to find a dedicated 44 special . I have had a few in the past and just let them slip away.
