5.3 ounces.. really heavy but the guns like it and it ran with some very light loads. T91 parts had the M-lok rails in stock for about 10 seconds. Managed to snag one. I'm not really a fan of piston ars but these are growing on me.

And I misspoke. Its made by Bushmaster. Note the cap secured by a roll pin but has about 1/8th inch of play or so and freely moves back and forth.

Not that I'm the end all authority but Ive seen a few buffers..lol..thats a first for me. It looked a little like the old hydraulic buffers made by Enidine. I'll do some research on it and find out.

Found it. They were designed to slow down the cyclic rate on short barreled rifles (7-11") I'm just writing down what I read. I guess the cap is being used as an additional dead blow weight. Neat design. I have a suppressed 11.5 that is waaay overgassed even with an H3. May try one in it. For $20, theres not much to lose.

The saga continues. Decided the leave the 16" in its stock configuration. The blocky forend reminds me of the old HK designs. T91 parts had a two piece drop in rail and curiosity got the best of me. Its M-lok and extends past the gas block ever so slightly. Its well made the machine work is clean but the finish reminds me of the dry film lubricant used on ar buffer tubes. Install wasn't terrible but it took me a solid minute to figure out how to install the cotter pins that secure the top rail cover. Its sturdy and has very little play for a two piece. Waiting on the brake and buffer to go shoot this thing.

What to do. Sell a 556 upper to buy one of these or retro fit mine with an Adams piston kit? I don't know anything about the gas world but everyone says it's great.

Depends entirely on how much the Adams kit costs, I guess. The Wolf was designed as a piston gun, has a cold hammer forged barrel and the piston bearing seems to be robust so far for $499. Purists will have something the say about the nitride barrel coating and lack of a bayonet lug but I dont mind either.

Cost wouldn't be a concern. I don't want to spend 2 grand but would like the superior product. I may order the wolf

Bought my Wolf upper a while back when on sale. Did an 80% lower with Taiwanese T 91 engraving, added T91 grip, stock, and sights to make a T91 clone. Function has been flawless.

Showed up today. I'm not sure if it's a quality finish or cheap. It has a texture. Somewhat of a shine. More satin than gloss, but not slick and flat like a normal receiver. Barrel looks nitride. Not sure if it is or some other coating.
It's Christmas everyday around here. Haha.
