So I had been eyeing an M1A Precision in my local gun shop for a while and yesterday decided to go buy it. Bam, all the M1A's were gone from the rack. I checked around on line and with IOP dealers and learned they have all dried up. Dang, I guess I procrastinated too long, I can only surmise why all the sudden interest in M1A's.

    I miss my M14 "M1A".

I have about 80 rounds left of some South African 7.62x51 I used in the 90's. Probably going to be putting that up for sale soon since I don't own anything .308 anymore.

    Last M1A I've given away.

Usually I purchase and pass M1A Supermatches.

Guess Y'all need to frequent SHOOTERS in NE Florida.

Contact me if Y'all would like me to stop at SHOOTERS on the way to Thing 3's Casa.

They have also jumped up in price, .308 ammo hasn't gone up much. Check out Bula M1A's if ya can't find a Springfiels Armory.

My "M1A" is actually a LRB forged receiver with USGI parts.

All bbls show evidence of having been on an M14 such as minor finish wear from the op rod or having been crated with other bbls. To my naked eye, all bores are bright, shiny, no chrome lining chipping seen, sharp lands, no corrosion or pitting. I wouldn't have one unless the bore was excellent or better in appearance. Measurements taken with a M14 throat and muzzle wear gage.

H&R 12-60 TE 2, 0.5 (less than 1) at the muzzle. Small Geneseo Il stamped near chamber (not visible if installed on rifle unless the op rod is removed), so it must've been in the hands of Springfield Armory Inc at one point.

Winchester 2-61 TE 0, 0.5 (less than 1) at the muzzle. Small Geneseo Il stamped near chamber (not visible if installed on rifle unless the op rod is removed), so it must've been in the hands of Springfield Armory Inc at one point. This bbl will probably be kept with my LRB M14, as parts currently on it are Winchester and headspaced with Winchester bolt and bbl.

SAK 1-69 TE a little less than 1, less than 0 at the muzzle. Israeli letter stamped on bbl. Has knurling on the bbl (done to better fit the receiver is my understanding). Because of the Israeli letter, this is probably one of the bbls from the M14 parts kits that were re-imported from Israel years ago.

H&R 4-62 TE less than 1, 0 at the muzzle.

If anyone is interested (since this is not the for sale forum), I'll put up a for sale post in the appropriate forum.
