I know it’s good to put down minerals etc. but what else do y’all put down to help with antler growth?

I have heard of putting down protein, but not sure what that would involve. What is considered protein?

    Any other thoughts?

Mostly ribeyes and tbones for protein. Then usually a little salt or maybe soy (sauce).

If you own the plot consider planting things for the deer that have a fair amount of calories. Graft the native persimmons over to asian or improved american or simply plant such. Plant dunstan chestnut, late fruiting hard pears and other suitable things.
If you have clear cuts there are all sorts of things you can grow for them.

What are the best food plots for deer?
Corn. The other big Midwestern crop, corn, is a top pick for deer food plots. Standing corn during deer season is an absolute must if you have the acreage. If you're not arguing that soybeans are the number one food plot species, you would probably be voting for corn
