Unsolicited E-mails

I’ve been getting various unsolicited e-mails such as news bits, home improvement tips all kinds of junk that I didn’t ask for.
I’m afraid that the “unsubscribe” button is a hidden link that I don’t want to hit.
Anybody else get this junk? What did you do about it?

Welldoya, I get these most every time I place an internet order.
You should be able to go to the bottom of the e-mail and find an unsubscribe button in small print.

I don't trust the "unsubscribe" button either. I'm using Gmail and it has a pretty aggressive junk mail filter if you set it up and give it some examples. Not much gets through of that sort for me.

I generally just mark unwanted emails as spam and clear that folder periodically. I never click anything, including unsubscribe, in an unsolicited email.

My Gmail has an unsub button at the top of most emails that doesn't require using the link in the email.

Another thing I’ve been getting just in the past few weeks is random texts designed to find out if yours is a legit number.
Such as “Hey, is this Fred”?
Or “Beth, can I stop by and pick it up this afternoon”?
I delete them.
