this thread ought to fill up quick....I will start with this....what you want to bet that ash carter is queer? he seems very concerned about getting this done quickly....

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon announced Thursday that transgender people will be allowed to serve openly in the U.S. military, ending one of the last bans on service in the armed forces.
Saying it's the right thing to do, Defense Secretary Ash Carter laid out a yearlong implementation plan declaring that "Americans who want to serve and can meet our standards should be afforded the opportunity to compete to do so."
Speaking at a Pentagon press conference, Carter said, "Our mission is to defend this country, and we don't want barriers unrelated to a person's qualification to serve preventing us from recruiting or retaining the soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine who can best accomplish the mission."
Under the new policy, by Oct. 1, transgender troops should be able to receive medical care and begin formally changing their gender identifications in the Pentagon's personnel system.
And a year from now, he said, the military services will begin allowing transgender individuals to enlist, as long as they meet the required standards and have been stable in their identified gender for 18 months.
Carter's announcement comes despite concerns from senior military leaders that the department is moving too fast and that more time is needed to work through the changes. He said he discussed the plans extensively with his military leaders, and based on their recommendations, he made adjustments to the timeline. He said he has been told that the services now support the timeline.
Last July, Carter said he intended to rescind the ban, calling it outdated. He has long argued that the military must be more inclusive to bring in the best and brightest.
At the time, he ordered a six-month study to include extensive medical and scientific research and discussions with other nations and companies with experience in the process. He extended the study because the military wanted more time. Officials said he wanted to insure there was no impact on military readiness, but over time, he became frustrated with the slow progress.

ANOTHER STUPID EXAMPLE, NOT OF GOVT, BUT PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM....

    REALLY?

A New Jersey teacher called the police when one student in her third grade class made a comment another child said was racist. "He said they were talking about brownies," which the class was eating for an end-of-the-year party, said the boy's mother, Stacy dos Santos. "Who exactly did he offend?"
Dos Santos reports her son was "traumatized" by his interaction with the police, and she hopes to send him to a different school in the fall. "He was intimidated, obviously," she said. "There was a police officer with a gun in the holster talking to my son, saying, 'Tell me what you said.' He didn't have anybody on his side."
Police are called to the elementary school in question as often as five times per day, as teachers prefer to dial the cops rather than dealing with routine misbehavior themselves. Following the brownies incident, the local police department reiterated its guidelines for the school as to appropriate circumstances for bringing officers to discipline elementary school hijinks.

Well now I'm glad my oldest Anthony worked hard and got an Academic Scholarship to Troy. If he didn't I was going to push for him joining the Air Force but the hell with that. Now some transgender nut job is going to be showering with groups of women because he identifies as a woman, tell me how that is right. Tell me how transgender in itself is not a mental disease, what a bunch of morons.

SACRAMENTO -- Nearly three weeks after the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history, the California Legislature on Thursday approved a raft of bills that aim to keep the state's citizens safer from deadly gun violence by placing sweeping new restrictions on firearms owners.

The Assembly endorsed legislation that seeks to ban possession of high-capacity ammunition magazines and close a loophole in the state's existing assault weapons ban by prohibiting long guns with "bullet buttons" that make it easier for shooters to swap magazines.
"This is designed to try to (prevent) a tragedy just waiting to happen," Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson, D-Santa Barbara, said, speaking about Assembly Bill 2607, which would allow people to ask judges to confiscate guns from coworkers they believe to be dangerous

In the upper house, lawmakers advanced bills that would restrict residents from buying more than one long gun in a 30-day period and expand the group of people who may request a gun violence restraining order. They will consider a few more bills later today.

THATS ODD, I DON' T SEE ANYTHING ABOUT BANNING MUSLEMS....THAT WOULD WORK.

The highest levels of government are full of criminals, deviants, and sycophants beholden to their benefactors to the point they'll gladly sacrifice our lives and freedoms to keep it that way. They have been systematically "breaking down barriers" to fill our military with the like-minded/mannered for years. It is not all military, but I do not doubt there are now plenty in the ranks, quite a few in leadership, who would carry out unconstitutional acts against American citizens simply because they were told to, or they hate what this country is, and would happily destroy the careers of those who oppose. I say this as a guy with over 20 years in uniform and still have routine contact with active military. Under Clinton this will accelerate at warp speed. Under Trump, who knows, he's already got plenty of opposition from what is supposed to be his side. I just don't see him carrying out a Joe Stalin purge.

this jumped out at me reading this..really? work 6 months, take 6 off? no wonder nothing happens in congress.

(Reuters) - North Carolina lawmakers adjourned for the year on Friday night after leaving mostly intact a law restricting transgender bathroom access that has drawn condemnation and jeopardized the state's efforts to host the NBA All-Star Game, officials said.
The law passed in March made North Carolina the first U.S. state to require transgender people to use restrooms in public buildings and schools that match the sex on their birth certificate rather than their gender identity.

Based on the current lack of transparency in government, I think we have a right to know where our elected representatives are, and what they are doing, at any given moment. A GPS tracker on their ankle, body cam, and full access to their Internet and e-mail use are just a few suggestions. Bet they'd think twice about inflicting that on others. Oh, and a shock collar I can access over the web for every time they attempt to say or do something stupid. With special setting for every time they use the words "gun" and "control" within 60 seconds of each other.

A Los Angeles City Council committee has voted in favor of a new regulation that would slap businesses with a $500 fine if they ask any applicant about their criminal history. The regulation, if passed by the council later this year, will be part of a new law that bans companies with 10 or more employees from probing an applicant’s criminal background before making an offer of employment. It’s part of the “Ban the Box” movement, an activist effort aimed at putting ex-cons back to work.
The ordinance would provide exceptions for employers who work in law enforcement and child care sectors.
To be sure, a criminal conviction should not – must not – come to mean that an individual can never again find gainful employment. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize how this situation leads to increased recidivism rates, increased government dependency, and all-around unfortunate effects.

[h=3]California can fall the hell off the country, wouldn't miss a damn thing...govt dictating who, & what services you can offer customers....

Pro-LGBT Atheist: ChristianMingle Shouldn't be Forced to Serve Gays[/h] A Christian piano player agreed to play music for the end of an audiobook, but he refused when he learned it would be an atheist book. Smalley understood, and did not take him to court. Other such situations followed, but as this atheist explained, "Never once did it pop into my mind to take these people to court and force them to comply with my desires as a consumer."
There are countless other businesses which provide such services, and Smalley easily found another pianist, as Benny Hinn likely found another voiceover company.
Ironically, Smalley's arguments remind me of a certain Christian bakery, which refused to cater a lesbian wedding. When Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, denied to cater Rachel Cryer and Laurel Bowman's event, they were refusing to provide a specific service, one that violated their beliefs.

if the democrats back blm, they should know their platform....

    Movement Demands:

    1. End the war on black people: We demand an end to the war against Black people. Since this country’s inception there have been named and unnamed wars on our communities. We demand an end to the criminalization, incarceration, and killing of our people.

    2. Reparations: We demand reparations for past and continuing harms. The government, responsible corporations and other institutions that have profited off of the harm they have inflicted on Black people — from colonialism to slavery through food and housing redlining, mass incarceration, and surveillance — must repair the harm done.

    3. Invest-Divest: We demand investments in the education, health and safety of Black people, instead of investments in the criminalizing, caging, and harming of Black people. We want investments in Black communities, determined by Black communities, and divestment from exploitative forces including prisons, fossil fuels, police, surveillance and exploitative corporations.

    4. Economical Justice: We demand economic justice for all and a reconstruction of the economy to ensure Black communities have collective ownership, not merely access.

    5. Community Control: We demand a world where those most impacted in our communities control the laws, institutions, and policies that are meant to serve us – from our schools to our local budgets, economies, police departments, and our land – while recognizing that the rights and histories of our Indigenous family must also be respected.

    6. Political Powers: We demand independent Black political power and Black self-determination in all areas of society. We envision a remaking of the current U.S. political system in order to create a real democracy where Black people and all marginalized people can effectively exercise full political power.

Reminds me of Baltimore where the "crowd" just wanted the police officers executed, absolutely no trial by and for anyone, sounds sort of like being lynched by a mob, does it not........ These people are a brainless, lawless, racist, mob of street thugs.

God help the sailors on this vessel...

The Navy is set to name a ship after the late homosexual rights icon and San Francisco politician Harvey Milk, according to a Congressional notification obtained by USNI News.
The July 14, 2016 notification, signed by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, indicated he intended to name a planned Military Sealift Command fleet oiler USNS Harvey Milk (T-AO-206).
Harvey Milk was the first homosexual activist elected to public office in the United States and was assassinated in 1978. That record plus the fact that Milk, who bragged about being a pedophile, served in the Navy at a time it was illegal for homosexuals to do so, apparently justifies naming a Navy ship in his honor.
Harvey Milk was a sexual predator who preyed upon teen boys. According to The Mayor of Castro Street, Milk's very favorable biography by Randy Shilts, in 1963, when Milk was 33, he took in "Jack" Galen McKinley, a 16-year-old runaway in New York City "who was looking for some kind of father figure," to live with him as a lover. While Jack was still a minor, Milk moved him to San Francisco. However, when Jack matured beyond Milk's taste for young guys, Milk dropped him.

It is starting to look like the Clown Prince of Chicago is trying his level best to provoke the public. Or perhaps he and Hillary are in a contest to find out who is the biggest liar and hypocrite.
