What appraiser estimated the guns worth? It doesn't have a front sight. Was it removed? And will a front sight come with the gun?

I'll have to check on the sight. Her husband was a collector and had friends that have "ALOT" of guns and rifles. She gave him a NIB Baikal in 380 as a gift..... I think the ones that came wiht the factory scope may not have the sight? I don't know....I'll check and see.

Yeah that gun left the factory with a front site.. what good is a rear site without a front one. Also marlin never used a Simmons 32mm scope to my knowledge as a factory option. Don’t quote me I could be WRONG

Who did the appraisal? Friends with "ALOT" of guns and rifles? I'm sorry, I don't see the segue between the Baikal and the Marlin in this ad. Mullet Hunter's point is well taken. Rear sight is useless without front sight.

OK - so you guys made me finally look at Gun Broker. That one sold for $725. They are ranging in completed sales from about $725 to $1001 (condition depending) with the laminated stock and scope. Plain stock ones sell for less of course. I know this is not Gun Broker and "we here" don't pay those prices. Again - I am doing this for a widower that had her asking prices set for her by someone else. I'm just trying to help and do appreciate the comments. I'll try and source the front sight for her as well. My gut is that the rifile can be bought for $600+ which I think is pretty fair. Please be nice with the comments - I'm trying to do a good thing here......

I can ask her if she would ask the guy that got it - if he would swap the Baikal for the 9x18. He was a long time friend of her late husband - they shot together - I'll ask. Originally before she gave it to him, she wanted me to list it for $650. I offered her $500 and she declined..... oh well. PM me if you want to make a presumptive offer and I can ask her.

She's not trying to be greedy - she no longer has his pension coming in, so funds will get tight for her soon. I offered to help.

Price Reduced to $600...... for those that offered $400+/- ~ if you can reconsider and make another offer - I can take that offer back to her.

Good on you for helping the lady. I’ve done the same thing myself a few times.
I’m curious as to why the “appraiser” didn’t sell them for her.
It’s a lot easier to sit back and value a gun than it is to actually get that price for it.

    Thanks brother.....
He was in LA and she did not want the guns leaving her residence....He was a family friend, but maybe not that good of a friend....to let him take them and sell.

She said her friend declined - and now I have the 9x18 SPF as of this AM.....
Your SPF guy was briefly interested in one of my Makarovs, but I didnt have any pictures to share. No hard feelings, we're all on the same team. I'm after a Mak in 380 in particular, though I'd jump on a Polish Makarov P-64 because of how much more compact the P64's are versus other Makarovs
