Well after the sale of the Monarch Ranch this year for 40 Million, which means I lost A LOT of area to coyote, hog, and deer hunt, I did manage to hold onto permission to hunt 350 acres of the ranch that was not part of the sale. Fortunately, this exact spot/field is where I've seen and killed some really nice mature bucks.

It sure was a great feeling to get my stands back in their original location as I though for sure I'd never get to step foot on that property again.

So here are my two stand spots, I call them the Sweet Gum Stand and the Oak Stand.

The sweet gum stand sits in a clump of sweet gums and provides excellent concealment along with a great view. I think the longest kill I've made from this stand was about 225ish yards.

The Oak Stand... I removed one portion of the ladder stand so it sits right at the top of the Palms...
