If you had a pistol upper like this in 5.56, what would be a great option for a rear sight. Not changing anything about the upper. Just adding a rear sight. I’m not sure what their preference will be so I figured I’d see what y’all say about an iron sight or other option.

I considered that but the upper will remain the same as the person I am helping likes the look. He is a little more “old” school

I had an MBUS flip up sight laying around. I popped that on there for the time being. I’m thinking I might try to find a carry handle with sight to give it that classic look.

One other question I had was under the front leg of the A frame front sight, it looks like something could mount there? What’s that for on the bottom of the barrel? Not the sling mount but the thing in front of it.

I am currently waiting on my upper (the same 10.5" upper from PSA) and plan on grabbing a removable carry handle that has the A2 reR site. That way I can change between krons and reddot if needed or wanted.

The front "lug" is used to attach a bayonet

Where are you getting your carry handle from?
And thanks for the answer on the bayonet lug! That’s cool!

That's cheap for a carry handle and sight. Not familiar with it. Is it an airsoft piece?

Or, you could take a sawz all and cut the front sight off and mount a red dot
I bought a preban Bushmaster once from Ron's Place that somebody locally had done that to. I liked it. Could not get any more low profile of a gas block then that

Btw, I heard its illegal to mount a bayonet on a pistol
Never heard that before, but wouldn’t matter because the bayo wouldn’t fit on a 10.5 anyways. Unless you decided to make your own with a lot of cutting and welding. Bayonet for the ar15 doesn’t even work on a 16 inch well without an adapter or it doesn’t fit right. 14.5 welded flash hider works or the best barrel length a 20 inch!

but back to the carry handle sight, any decent brand will work great. Stay away from the cheaper ones though. PSA makes a good one as well as RRA I like Midwest industry myself. Of coarse you could always put out a WTB here and I’m sure someone has one.

By the way, Stage, all these are great options for the Sub2000
