Damn that ruger is cool, how do you make your own suppressor legally? Did you take a suppressor and modify a barrel to make it one solid barrel?

Pay the government $200.00 and get an approved Form 1.

No I built it from scratch. Basically took a piece of aluminum tubing and internally threaded one end. Turned down, ported, and threaded the stock Ruger barrel, wrapped aluminum filter media around the barrel, slid the alum. tube over it and screwed on an end cap. Milled out the stock for the larger diameter tube and presto chango you have a super quiet gun, for like not much money at all, the $200.00 tax stamp was the most expensive part. I paid $50.00 for the Ruger about 30 years ago. It's by far the quietest gun I have. You could even say it's Hollywood quiet.

This is my 6.5 Grendel quiet gun. To my knowledge and on the Grendel Forum this was the first action full function subsonic gun in the Grendel with 160gr RN Hornady bullets. I used a 6 oz buffer with a standard spring with three coils cut. The bullets are set way down in the case because the bullets are Cacarno .267s With 12 gr or 2015 It shoots .5 at 50 yards. Has a make do green illuminator with a lit reticle scope. Penetration is 11 1/2 inches of dry phone book plus 6 inches of hard red clay under the books. The shot test bullet is pictured. The can is a Liberty Torch QC that works by fitting over a standard muzzle flash suppressor.

no one has posted pics in awhile so i thought i'd put one up.
this is an SWD M11/nine with with a Lage 22lr conversion kit mounted in a dedicated USMG upper and
a Gemtech Outback IID can. since this pic was taken the can has been replaced with a Silencerco Spectre
from Nate. much easier to clean.

Thanks bud! The upper is a factory built AAC 9" MPW upper. The rail they use is a KAC URX 3 I believe.

Pitt, looks like you're running a B5 SOPMOD enhanced, ACOG, DD rail and an Omega with lancer mag. That right? What caliber and barrel length you running?

I once thought the same thing. You just gotta do it. Simply do it. If you need pointed in the right direction, I'm sure many people here can help. I know I will. It's easier than most people think. (Although Obama is trying to change that), and you can get into your first SBR with optic for under a grand stamp included. Let's get you going in the NFA world bud!
