Yesterday *president trump made a speech and declared he was on the side of the peaceful protestors. While he was speaking, peaceful protestors were forced from the street within earshot of the *president. All of that was done so trump could walk across the street and set up a photo op. A photo op. Nothing more. No prayers, no scripture read, nothing but him holding up a Bible. Disgusting behavior from him. To have peaceful LEGAL protestors tear gassed and forced off the street while simultaneously saying he supported them is just unbelievable. He has also mentioned calling in the armed forces. Isn't that illegal?

There are legal procedures for calling troops in. Eisenhower did it for little rock in 1956. I think it was first done for the whisky rebellion in 1794.
The people outside the white house that got kicked around were not going to vote for Trump anyhow.

Troops were called to Little Rock to protect people who were exercising their rights, and were being threatened by people trying to deny those rights. I can see some parallels here in some cases.

The common denominator is federal troops can called in to quell disorder.

1894 troops called in to deal with the pulman railroad strike and riots

The Pullman strike, which developed into one of the most serious labor disturbances in (US sic) history, began on May 11, 1894. The trouble resulting spread through the length and breadth of the country, and ultimately necessitated calling into active service one of the largest bodies of troops that had taken field in the United States since the civil war. The depression of 1893 had affected the Pullman company and the Detroit works were closed. A threatened reduction in wages, together with a list of grievances cherished by the employés of shops at Pullman, resulted in a strike being ordered. The Pullman company closed its shops and awaited developments.

For six weeks the strike was conducted quietly, and the mass of the people were hardly aware a strike was in progress. On June 22, however, a committee of the American Railway union served notice on the Pullman company that unless the company submitted to arbitration the questions involved in the strike a general boycott be ordered against all roads using Pullman cars. The company refused to arbitrate and on June 28 every member of the American Railway union was ordered not to handle a Pullman car or any train hauling a Pullman car.

Federalizing the guard is modern way of not upsetting the locals of a state so much in that they use the state guard. Eisenhower sent in federal troops because local guard was supporting the segregationists.

    National Guard blockade

Main article: Arkansas National Guard and the integration of Central High School

Several segregationist councils threatened to hold protests at Central High and physically block the black students from entering the school. Governor Orval Faubus deployed the Arkansas National Guard to support the segregationists on September 4, 1957. The sight of a line of soldiers blocking out the students made national headlines and polarized the nation. Regarding the accompanying crowd, one of the nine students, Elizabeth Eckford, recalled:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Rock_Nine
On September 24, the President ordered the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army—without its black soldiers, who rejoined the division a month later—to Little Rock and federalized the entire 10,000-member Arkansas National Guard, taking it out of Faubus's control.[9]

OPs Q: Isn't that illegal? At the Link is a good study of that issue. It focused for Presidential directed Marine Corps domestic deployment legalities, limitations an shortfalls conceptually and logistically, most of which would be universal to all Branches. Coincidentally, the prime scenario is based on inner city issue driven riots. Index can get you to the quick answers.

He doesn't get to violate rights based on how someone votes.
Violating rights? Exactly what are those?
Oh! That is what it looked like to me and why not. I did not see a lot of MAGA signs in that particular demonstration or in any of them.
Basic rule of how washington works, those that give the most support to a politician expect to receive more from said politician.

Considering that innocent people have been beaten mercilessly by rioters with 2x4's, innocent handicapped people in wheelchairs were attacked by rioters, innocent store owners have been attacked for simply standing in their doorway, and innocent police officers have been shot and MURDERED, you think a speech by Your PRESIDENT, PRESIDENT TRUMP, is the "most disgusting thing [you've] seen and heard during the riots"? Have you not seen or heard ANYthing else?

You love to demand proof and a link when others make similar statements about *speaker *pelosi and *senator *schumer, so hop to it.

Please provide a link to this video and proof that Your PRESIDENT, PRESIDENT TRUMP, did what you accused him of doing.

If you haven't seen him standing on church grounds holding up a bible and looking all smug and self righteous, I don't know where you've been. This episode has been covered extensively, even by fox "news". If you can't find coverage of this you should probably turn in your computer.

Yes because “looking all smug and self righteous” is was worse and way way more disgusting then innocent people have been beaten mercilessly by rioters with 2x4's, innocent handicapped people in wheelchairs were attacked by rioters, innocent store owners have been attacked for simply standing in their doorway, and innocent police officers have been shot and MURDERED! Yes because his words hurt your precious little sensitive feelings. Have tanks rolled down the streets? Have regular Army been deployed? Has anything happened but words? Oh so sorry someone got some tear gas, sure is better the the guy shot in the back of his fu$king head. Sure is better then the guy hit and ran over by an SUV, sure is better then the guy that got stoned in the middle of the street, sure is better then........ I could go on but you’d plug your ears like a child and scream orange man bad! I don’t agree with everything your/my president does but he damn sure stands with Americans far more then anyone one else I’ve seen on both sides of the aisle.

So, you believe a President visiting an attacked CHURCH is the most disgusting thing you've seen about these riots. Got it.

So you CAN'T produce actual Proof of your accusations. Got it.

Here, since you admit Fox News covered it, here's a link to facts:

    Spoiler alert: You're WRONG.

    - the "protestors" were actually Attacking the police.
    - No tear gas; just smoke.
    - it had nothing to do with the POTUS.

You are a parrot for the Trump-hating idiots. You hate him so much, anything he does, even "holding up a bible and looking all smug and self righteous", is worse than the most basic cowardice of attacking someone in a wheelchair or shooting a police officer in the back of the head.

You, and all who spew hate like you, disgust me.

In my opinion, the entirety of President Trump's walk from the White House to St. James Church was symbolic. Peaceful or not: protesters and rioters have controlled ground, blocked bridges and highways and impeaded freedom of movement and the safety and welfare of others. Trump demonstrated he would not accept that and TOOK CONTROL AWAY from the "protesters". Being President, his freedom of movement comes with security, escorts and expedited pathway that always has a slight impact on vehicle and pedestrian traffic, nothing new. If gas, smoke and/or flashbangs were use to move protesters: that means they were NON-COMPLIAN, attacked LE and not innocent as so many want to portray it.

Like so many events between civilians and LE: it is noncompliance by the suspect or person of interest that necessitates escallation in LE use of force. Yery few (like Philando Castile) of the LE to minority lethal incidents don't start down that path without noncompliance and sometimes that use of force is excessive and/or fatal.
