For .224 valkyrie build. Anybody using this scope? Or would another +12x scope be better? Trying to stay around $400, prefer less as I have less in the build, lol

Check out the EE on ARFCOM. There have been some great deals on optics lately.

I've scored some Leupold MK IV's, VARI-X III's, and Vortex Viper PST's for bargin prices.

My last was a Vortex HST new in the box for $250.00.

Check out precision optics 4x14x44 ffp optic. They have different optic for differant caliber weapons. I've got one on my saint .308 it's pretty badass. The vertical is very nice. Gives you wind age and distance. Best ffp optic i.m.o. under 300$

Bought this one yesterday. Not the strike eagle, but a good optic. Also came with sunshade.

First or second focus plane, reason for using them between the two of them if this makes sense?

The crossfire are 2focal plane. I've got one on an ar I have. 3x9x50 it's a good scope.
The vortex strike eagle 1x6 is the best ar optic I've ever had on an ar 15 the reticle is awesome and if need be can use it out to 500yds. I'm told. I am dead accurate with it at 100- 200 yards with it

I know one of the more practical differences is in FFP the reticle will “grow and shrink” as you zoom, while SFP remains same size. FFP tends to cost a little more, and I believe I’d preferred by many. My Primary Arms ACSS is SFP and I like it fine. But I’m no operator either.

Yeah, no zoom on the x with this one. Must be a 2nd. But now I wonder if the impact will shift when zooming out or in?

It's called "tracking". Some scopes do. Usually the lower priced ones . . . Simmons,Tasco, some Bushnell's,Nec Star, anything sold in shrink wrap.
Possibly the cheaper Vortex although I have never heard of one. Most of the medium to higher end scopes are tested for this before they leave the factory during the QA phase. --- SAWMAN

I'll probably just set it for 18x and leave it. No dirt clod clay pit shooting for the V!
