This deer was in the same are 210-220 lbs. With complete pass through, his other deer was 240-250 lbs. If not a little more with a complete pass through. Both were deer we have been watching for a few years. The Hornady American whitetail are also very accurate in the ruger 1/2 inch group all day.

240-250 lb deer, where are you hunting? Where I’m at it’s extremely rare to see any that tip the scales over 200 , most of our big heavy bruisers weigh 180-195 here and once in awhile one will bump 200

We hunt past Luverne we have killed a few over the years in that area. There's alot of agriculture fields around our little piece of property and we feed year round. We don't shoot anything unless it's outside it's ears except for our kids first deer. But they so far have been to what we shoot. We do have another smaller piece of property about 15 minutes from our main one and the deer there are not as big body wise. We killed one that was around 220 is the biggest. We've had both these properties for over 30 years.

I'm in range. Like a ghost town. Was getting great pics then nothing. I think the local dogs are spooking the deer. Have pics of dogs and cats on the plots. Haven't had a fox on cam in weeks. Sucks.

Been trying to get him for a while, he has outsmarted me last couple hunts coming out when it was too dark for me to positively identify. Today he walked out pretty as you please at 7am for breakfast and suddenly became 180 grains heavier, got to lay off that corn feeder and peanuts I been throwing it will kill ya every time. I would like to thank our sponsors BAR and Zeiss.

Just catching up on my horn reporting. The 5x3 8 point was taken Jan. 7th with my old Savage 340 30-30 open sights. 50 yards 150 grain high shoulder shot dropped like a stone. The 6 point was Jan. 28th, pulled out a Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08 that hasn't been used in years. 20 plus year old hand loaded 140 grain Nosler BT entered the fat part of the neck slight quartering to me shot. Dropped instantly, internal damage was massive.

I used to have a Savage 340-C , sold it to a neighbor that’s still got it, should have kept it, had 18” barrel if I remember correctly and it had a scope on it.

I've got a single shot 30-30 scoped for "guest" use. H&r I got from Sawman. Great shooter.

I like the handi rifles, don’t have any with synthetic stocks mainly because when I see them they’re always in wood. I buy them all along when I come across them, your 30-30 made me think of one I’ve got chambered in 7.62x39 that I’ve never even shot, it’s scoped and thinking it’s got a Bushnell on it. Lord have mercy on my firearm addiction, my wife will be overwhelmed one day when something happens to me and she’s got to sell them off. I’ve got a friend/neighbor that has accumulated so many guns it’s unbelievable, for as long as I’ve known him he’s bought guns every payday up until he retired, and since he’s been retired now for 4 years he has not slowed down one bit, I couldn’t begin to even try and guess what he’s got stored away, hundreds and hundreds I’d say. He’ll do without basic necessities in life to buy a firearm. When a man like him has a single hobby and has the funds to buy them more power to him. I know another big gun enthusiast in my neck of the woods that’s a former Marine with 3 Purple Hearts that has so many old collectible guns it’ll make your head swim. Hold on to that 30-30 handi rifle , I think the prices on them are going to get crazy…

My brother shot and missed a 4 point. He got up from his ground blind and walked over no blood so he sat back down. Few mins later same buck strolls back out and he connects right on the shoulder and dropped him. Buck put its head up like it was going to get up so he put another one in its neck. He decides to give it a minute to die and the buck jumps up and starts running on its back two legs bouncing off its broke front legs. He shoots 2 times and misses as it ran off. Trailed the deer a few hundred yards to where it jumped over a fence and crossed a deep wide stretch of creek on to someone else’s land. Crazy how resilient deer can be.

.270win 130gr Winchester Silver Tips 150+ yard shot to feeder. Pic of deer on trail cam running after 2 guns shot wounds. Look at its front legs and it still ran over 200 yards, jumped a fence, and swam a creek.

If deer are this tough can you imagine moose and elk? It's impressive. People get popped with a .22 and are layed out.
