    Holy $hit. This is the biggest deer I've ever had on camera. WOW. This is on our new property in Range,Al...wow. I guess ill have to get my 308 XPR zeroed in and practice, alot!! View attachment 186420 View attachment 186421
    Fairly large rack for deer up this way. Sizes have increased with careful selection over the last few years.

    Grandad told me he recalled deer being hunted to extinction and TR Miller Mill bringing them in boxcars and releasing them.

    That’s the case , in much of the south. When people got hungry during the depression, Seasons didn’t mean much. People were eating what ever they could find. I’m sure I would have done the same.

    I’ve heard that a lot of the deer came from Wisconsin. Unfortunately all the folks that I knew that talk about the depression , are gone now.

    Yep, no law, no hunting season. Folks gotta eat. BTW racoon makes good jerky...

    There There, just being shy! Seems like right now they are in "bro" mode. I keep seeing 2-4 bucks hanging out together. Does and babies separate. If not feeding just a mineral block or salt lick would help. Seems like the crushed mineral block is drawing them in.

    Anyone plant their food plots yet? If so, how are they doing with the lack of rain that we've had for the last month?

    Drought they say. Some areas of FL and AL are in a moderate drought.
