I was thinking of doing everybody a huge favor and selling some speciality reloads. 308Win,6.8SPC,44Rem Mag,450Bushmaster,and 6.5Creedmoor. Of course they wont be cheap. Just good.
I have plenty of consumables and I do not shoot as much as I used to. Soooooo . . . ---- SAWMAN

308 has been expensive now for some time. What you are asking at 90 cents a round would in normal times be above market price. Now maybe it is a good price. I think you are in the ball park of being fair. By gouging you might get more.

More than a year ago steel case russian 308 was 35 cents a round plus shipping. The German surplus was more. Maybe 50 cents I think a round.
Below is an order I put in.
    I ordered september 2019
    10 x 50 round box - 9mm +P+ Federal 115 grain Hollow Point Ammo 9BPLE - $179.50 ($17.95 each)
    SKU: 9bple
    1 x 500 Round Case - 308 Win 150 grain FMJ Ammo - Tulammo made in Russia - $173.75
    SKU: TA-308win-case

This is actual NATO Surplus Brass Cased M80 Ball Battle Packs. (Real Deal not Russian Knockoffs) Folks that are able to expend or want to spend the extra $ on Surplus M118LR or better ammo are Welcomed. JMHO.

Because maybe he is trying to be a decent man and that is why he is asking around. Most of us here do not financially have or want to sell our souls to make a few bucks. And we are mostly selling to our neighbors and members of this group.
    I didn't ask but thanks.

I said the price was fair. I suspect you could get more than you are asking.

I believe I am familiar with that ammo and do have some of it from the MEN Factory (Not sure of the letters). On this ammo the bullets have a silver appearance and is intended for the G3/PTR91 that I have. I purchased the Tulammo due to it being cheaper and brand new. My MEN german ammo has some discoloration on the cases due to moisture having gotten into the packing paper I am told. But another reason is that the jackets have a reputation of being thin and not giving deep penetration into materials that is what a .308 is supposed to be all about. I have large amounts of reloading components for that caliber.

I also have African AP Surplus, as this is Steel Jacketed M80 7.62 NATO rounds. I've only got 4000 of the German rounds left, perhaps a couple of pallets of the more volatile African AP Rounds available. But I really don't intend to delve into Government Surplus until I've lost the ability to protect all the little things.

If the surplus is in good condition for battle conditions I prefer it, except when it is loaded with fragile bullets. If ever had to defend my street with the neighbors, you may have to shoot up vehicles and the military loads are better. They also are supposed have superior sealant on them and over all loaded to more stringent specifications. If I was using a sniper rifle, than I would choose something else.

M80, AP or otherwise can't be expected to perform at distances over 750 yards. Even Mexican Match 168 grain SMK's can't reach out to the 1K KD Range supersonic. To perform reliably on the 1K Range you shall need M118LR out of at least a 22 Inch Barrel. If you intended to use a Sniper Rifle I'd recommend at least MK 248 Mod 1 out of a 26 inch minimum 5R barrel. JMHO.

But the steel jacketed AP M80 ammo makes quick work of breaking in a new barrel. 10 rounds one at a time with cleaning between of steel jacketed AP M80 will break in even the hardest of chrome-lined or stainless steel barrels. JMHO. YMMV. (Doubt it)

One reason I like the 7.62x39 is the same reason the Russians choose it and why the germans chose an assault rifle in 7.92x33. Most combat is at much closer ranges. I do not have the skill to reliably hit a man size target at extended ranges under real conditions that different from a square range. Even spotting someone at such distance and knowing it is someone that needs to get versus some collateral person is beyond what I can do. I want the heavier hard recoiling .308 when the extrapower is required.
For longer ranges some of the 6.5's like the 6.5 WSM are guns for those that want to do such things.

Most Combat within the 300 yard Kill Zone is Fatal!
So if you can't reliably hit a man size target beyond the 300 yard kill zone, at best you are going to trade exterminating blows with the OPFOR. This is not the recipe for survival? JMHO.

Don't tell others to expect your demise if they have options to perform otherwise!

It's not that hard to perform on the 300 or 600 yard KD Range with simple Boot camp Training. The USMC has done it for decades.

If the democratic socialists accomplish half of their agenda , the price of ammunition will be the least of most folks problems.
That's a great point. I see youtuber's talking about women playing on men's football teams, etc. while the communists appear to have just stolen the election and turned us into the world's greatest banana republic. So, yeah, we have some problems that will not be going away soon.

As long as they don't start gouging banana pudding I'm ok. Start gouging banana pudding and you've got a problem.

Gotta love how quickly these topics can go off topic, lol.

I was an FFL and paid the SOT. Funny thing about limited resources; machine guns aren’t being made any more. In a market with scarce resources, prices continue to rise. Was I gouging when I sold an m16 for 28k that sold for 700 in the 80s? No, I was selling at current market rate. Replacing the item is hard to do. Sometimes a dealer might find someone looking for fast cash on a gun, say 24k, but it has to move on a form 4. Well, there’s a long wait on that. There is risk.

So free markets are always adjusting due to supply and demand. There is no such thing as gouging. People in the market place are taking risks, and everyone is always looking to find something for a low price so they can move it for more money.
