The Glock Blue Label thread & Jimmy's prices got me looking more closely at the G19 Gen 5. I've seen two distinct versions of this pistol in online pics...one with front cocking serrations & one without. Question - Are both versions being sold concurrently or is one an "old" version? The Jimmy's Blue Label stock is the front serration variety. Is the answer that the Blue Label type has front serrations and "regular" ones don't? TIA for any clarification.

I may be wrong, but I think the ones with the slide serrations are the g19 MOS. Those should also have an rmr cut on the top of the slide to mount an optic.

Thanks, but the ones at Jimmy's had front serrations and no RMR cut. I was told they just received them last Friday. Price was $419. Maybe Glock is "dumping" a short-lived version as Blue Label? No front strap semi circle cut out at the bottom either.

Far as I know, if you want a G19 Gen 5 from Jimmy's, the one I described is it...front serrations and no front strap cutout for $419. I don't know if they offer a RMR version. Personally, I dislike front serrations & certainly wouldn't pay extra for them, but this is what I saw. So, at this point I still don't know whether both types in my OP are still being made.

Just checked Glock website and the only G19 Gen 5 (non RMR) shown is the same as Jimmy's has. I guess they all have the front serrations now (?).

Edited to add: I'm not a fan of front serrations but I guess it isn't a deal breaker at $419.

Thanks for all of the replies.

At 419.00 I'd jump on it, rmr cut or not, FS or not. Sounds like a hell of a deal, especially in the current market.

...Even if you don’t use them, what does it take away?

I think they detract from otherwise clean lines on a pistol (I just don't care for them on any pistol, but I guess I'm thinking more about how they muck up the looks of a 1911, and I carry that opinion over to other models). My "training" and personal experience is such that I would never even think of using them in an emergency situation, so I have no use for them, but YMMV. Although I prefer the look of the G19 without them, I guess it doesn't really matter either way on a Glock, haha.

I was at Jimmys last time they had the big Glock sale with the Glock rep there. I am 99% sure he told me that the forward serrations were becoming standard on all gen 5 guns

Yea it annoys the OCD and lowers resale, but the only serial that matters is the frame

Agreed on the frame s/n. I assembled a G35 with the "wrong" slide and it bothers me not at all, but I still think it makes little no sense to mis-match a my brand new pistol. I can live with it as it is.
