    Consider this a challenge.
This is one of the first guns I’ve bought back in 1985. My question is, what type of sights are these? I’ve looked through catalogs and internet and nothing I’ve seen looks like these, especially the front sight. I’m sure a good gunsmith could mill and drill etc and install new sights. I’d like to find something that basically drops in. Fiber optic front for sure.
This is a Detonics Servicemaster built in Bellevue WA. 4 1/4” barrel. Great gun so I don’t know why they went out of business.
I appreciate any help I can get.

Looks like the only thing holding the front sight on are a couple of roll pins. Never seen that type front sight but the rear sight looks familiar to me.

Can't tell on the front sight, but it's the same rear sight as yours but on a Combat Master.
Thinking they must not have used this design very much?

Remembering.... had a Detonics 451 for awhile. Great gun. Built like a tank. Another gun that I should have never let slip away.

Could be a millet front sight, with those posts coming through the top of the slide.

oneshot/JJ would know if they are, and if they are, they’re not exactly drop in.

I have a mk1 serial 25xx, which was the 5xx made available to the public when they went to public sales after not getting military contracts. Serial numbers from 0001 to 2000 were mostly given as freebies (to persuade/bribe military heads for contracts) and to company personnel and whatnot.
Serial numbers from 2001 and up were sold to the public.
I also have a mk 7 combat master like new in the original box, papers, rug and mags, and fairly sure it's unfired other than from the 2 qc test fires.
To my knowledge all of the original detonics started as a full sized Colt 1911, then chopped to present size.
They were also the 1st sub-compact .45 that actually worked flawlessly, while others had faults.
A lot of history on the Detonics. They just mismanaged their money, mostly because they did not produce their own frames, barrels, slides/parts. They actually bought colt .45's from local dealers and hand cut and hand finished each pistol to sub-compact and re-named them Detonics.
They went bankrupt several times and finally produced their own frames, etc., but the main damage was done from previous bankruptcies (= money woes).
My mk1 is a little snappy, but nothing serious. I could shoot it all day without much difficulties. It's a better built pistol and pleasure to shoot than any other .45 sub-compact that I've shot.
