I recently acquired a late '70's Dan Wesson .357 magnum model 15-2 with a 6" barrel. The frame bluing is about 95% but there is a fair amount of wear and light pitting on the barrel near the muzzle and the usual wear on the cylinder. I can get a new 2 1/2" barrel from DW and would like to get a 4" as well. The question is from a value standpoint will the new barrels add anything beyond the actual cost of the barrel or will it detract from the gun since it is not the original barrel? Or should I just sell it and find one in better condition to begin with? The gun is a beast and shoots very well.
