I didn’t know it was being done away with in Pensacola. Gee whiz.
You wouldn't say its dumb if you had ever been to the Columbus Day Regatta at Elliot Key in Biscayne Bay. It's a party to end all parties.I’m somewheres around 25-28% Cherokee and I think this is dumb. Proud American. Oh and you’d be surprised at how many natives that live on the res think it’s dumb too.
I’m not getting what your getting at? Do I think it’s dumb to take or rename Columbus Day? Of course I do. It’s part of our history. I bet the regatta would be cool to see. I hear there are thousands of boats out there. Would I participate, no way too many people for me. If they wanna do it, cool boat it up. Like previous stated, if you want a new holiday then fine but don’t take away one because I a tiny amount of large mouthed people. As far I me being part native, I understand how the world works. Peoples conquer people and take land. Victor goes the spoils. People scream about taking away indigenous peoples land, well those that had it at the time once fought and took it from someone else. Tribes were killing each other and taking each others land(space) long before Columbus got here. So I don’t get it. They say it belongs to indigenous people well which ones? The last owners, or the ones before that or before that? So as to your post ????? I don’t get what you were saying. Am I not native enough? Or am I too native? I don’t get it.You wouldn't say its dumb if you had ever been to the Columbus Day Regatta at Elliot Key in Biscayne Bay. It's a party to end all parties.
