Finally got the ol lady to decide to take a ccw course after a recent encounter shes had. Who do yall recomend for a ccw course? I want to make sure she learns as much as she can and not just the bare minimum. I plan on training with her to make sure shes comfortable. I took mine with a forum member a while back but can't seem to find his number. I think his name was JJ?

Oneshot on the forum. PM him. He's been pretty busy lately, not sure if he's still doing classes.

Search JJ's past posts. In some of them he states his phone number.
I highly reccomend his course. ESPECIALLY for the ladies.
For you to take the course with her,or accompany her at the course, would be perfect. --- SAWMAN

If JJ is busy, the sheriff’s dept holds classes several times a year.
The Sheriffs department or ERGC club.
Note, these are not training courses for combat.
It is what you need to fulfill the state of FL requirements to get the CCW.
When training dependents, one size will not fit all. An elderly lady for example might be better served by a small caliber tip up barrel automatic if she can not rack the slide on gun. Giving her a double action revolver that she can not pull the trigger of is not a good idea.

tilt up barrel gun, but likely want a single action trigger

I think most of us here know enough to train a dependent assuming training is possible. There are some couples where it is just better for someone else to train the wife. Even at times a female instructor is better.

    Details for ERGC course.

Also - S&W has a 380 that is very easy to load. A friend bought one for his wife who is very slight and has some health issues and she can rack the slide with 2 fingers.

She has a non-traditional style but shot 3” groups at 25 yards so we did not “train her”. What works for some may not work for others.

She shoots once every couple of months and is still dead nuts.
