Romney issue is a different issue, a U.S. citizen parent giving birth outside the U.S. so its irrelevant as each case must be evaluated on its own circumstances. Even with Romney, his citizenship was not automatic and had to be procedurally applied for.

The issue at hand is both parents were not U.S. citizens at the time of the birth in the U.S. Just as Romney at birth had U.S. connectivity via a parent. So would the U.S. birth have connectivity to the foreign countries of the parents citizenship.

The arguement at this point is recognizing the "connectivity" of one Country but not the other two in our case. This is where the often ignored but equally important second Clause has bearing: "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof," As an example, there are hundreds of children with U.S. citizenship taken (kidnapped) by foreign/dual citizenship parents to foreign countries and those countries only recognize that parents Rights. We could say the child was subject to another countries jurisdiction.

The Jamaican Constitution says Harris is Jamaican:
Under chapter 2 of the Constitution of Jamaica, a person born in Jamaica after 5 August 1962, or born outside Jamaica after that date to a father who is a Jamaican citizen, is automatically considered a Jamaican citizen at birth.

Note: Their Constitution does not require a person to "claim or identify" as Jamaican, it is automatic, bestowed upon by decent.

Being a Jamician citizen also makes that person a Commonwealth Citizen of the United Kingdom.

India Citizenship Law does not recognize an outside the Country birth (by decent) unless the father is a citizen of India, mother's India citizenship is not enough. However, it is still the parent Country loyalites at time of birth that create the issue.

Harris is supposed to be a superior lawyer but has she legally severed these "Citizenship ties"? Even if she does it might not stand as adequate against the Second Clause. She may well not meet the requirements.

Since Case Law has not address the Second Clause, there is no rack for my hat.

If the worst case happens and the Dems "win" in November, how hilarious would it be if the Republicans took the House, Biden steps down, so the Republicans challenge her eligibility through the SCOTUS and prevail, so the Speaker becomes next in line, and we have an instant President with an "(R)" after his name?

Even better, then the Speaker, now POTUS, names DJT as his Vice President, then resigns, and we get what we should've had in the first place!

Extra bonus, this happens after the 2-year mark, so DJT remains eligible to run again in 2024.

    :)

Hahaha, if it weren't for the inevitable libtard meltdowns and rampant violence-via-crybabies, that would be awesome.

Kamala father Donald Harris, a retired Stanford University economics professor and the father of Sen. Harris. On Jan. 13, Jamaica Global, a website for the global Jamaican diaspora, published an article that Prof. Harris had written in September 2018 about his family’s roots in Jamaica. He was born on the island, before immigrating to the United States in the 1960s, to pursue a career as an economist and university lecturer.

In his Jamaica Global article, Harris claimed to be descended from the 19th-century planter and slave owner Hamilton Brown. He wrote:

“My roots go back, within my lifetime, to my paternal grandmother Miss Chrishy (née Christiana Brown, descendant of Hamilton Brown who is on record as plantation and slave owner and founder of Brown’s Town) "
Snopes says they can not confirm the story. Any way K. Harris' father apparently believed they were descended from Hamilton Brown.
So what is one to think and really one way or the other does it make a difference. Most black americans today are related to slave masters that impregnated their slaves and so what. It happened. It is what men do when they have power over women.

According to Professor of Law at Chapman University and Senior Fellow at the Claremont Institute, John Eastman, Senator Kamala Harris does not qualify for the vice presidency because of issues surrounding her birth.
The 12th Amendment provides that “no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.” And Article II of the Constitution specifies that “no person except a natural born citizen…shall be eligible to the office of President.” Her father was (and is) a Jamaican national, her mother was from India, and neither was a naturalized U.S. citizen at the time of Harris’ birth in 1964. That makes her not a “natural born citizen”—and therefore ineligible for the office of the president and, hence, ineligible for the office of the vice president.

The pecking order just moves Current VP to President. Nine VPs have have done so. The new President nominates a new person to be the VP and that selection must be approved by Majority in both the Senate and the House. G. Ford was elevated to the VP position in this manner. Ford was the House MINORITY Leader. He then succeeded Nixon in the presidency and nominated the forgetable Nelson Rockefeller who was confirmed for the again vacant VP slot. Ford dropped VP Rockefeller in favor of Bob Dole in his bid for Election. Ford/Dole lost. Ford was VP and Pres but never publicly elected to those Offices.

Before the 25th Ammendment (1967) the VP Position would have been left vacant until the next election was completed. Unless there is a new Case Law providing better direction and disqualify her from VP, Harris could fill the presidency and nominate a VP. In the current political environment, I can't see getting a Majority in both the House and Senate but these Seats are subject to change too. Only if the Presidency and VP are simultaneously vacant does Pelosi get a shot at the #1 slot.

If Harris were to succeed biden during his elected term and do so for at least two remaining years: she would only be eligible for election to that Office once not twice. 22nd Ammendment applies.

So the cancel culture protester/rioters who are aggressively working to eliminate every symbol they can connect with slavery and black oppression are suppose to give VP pick K. Harris a Pass while simultaneously demanding reparations? Fake Media is already doing a full court press makeover that she's a dem "moderate". It doesn't matter how many sound bytes are out there, rebirth has begun.

I also find it laffable the dems can't find a suitable candidate that has unquestionable "roots" (again).

Longshot: Maybe the biden handlers will figure their Harris pick has too much baggage or is actually unqualified? biden could just say he tried for the best Black Woman but harris wasn't vetted sufficiently or the numbers weren't there within and outside the Party: the greater imperative is defeating Trump. Harris out and Gov Witmer in.

Framer of the Fourteenth Amendments first section, John Bingham, said Sec. 1992 of U.S. Revised Statutes meant “every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen.” If this statute merely reaffirmed the old common law rule of citizenship by birth then the condition of the parents would be entirely irrelevant.

both parents were citizens of another country, therefore they owed allegiance to their home countries....kamala is not eligble...

The provision is, that ‘all persons born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens.’ That means ‘subject to the complete jurisdiction thereof.’ What do we mean by ‘complete jurisdiction thereof?’ Not owing allegiance to anybody else. That is what it means.

When can someone file a motion or what ever it is to prevent Kamala Harris from running?

Link is full reference to info in #54 above. Clearly reference to documented text of comments/opinions presented on what the words of the 14th Amendment are ment to mean/convey/represent. The Left wouldn't have picked her if they couldn't defend/delay opposition in Court. Also draws attention away from Biden's age/mental health issues. Say it goes to Court but unresolved prior to her being sworn in. It would then require her to be impeached IOT remove her from Office. What will the political split numbers be in the House to Impeach and Senate to give a verdict.

Must feel he really needs the votes from certain demographics. A picture of her is all the qualification some will need.

The objective is to win the presidency and yes choosing her based on appearance is part of it.

I don't think I'd be wanting to dump Harris. She's proven to be pretty radical and she could be replaced with somebody more electable.
