This is a simple wildcat that is not really a wildcat.....The original a Ruger Mini 30s for the first two years, all had .308 barrels with a 1-10 twist. The original die sets made in the US, also had a .311 sizer and .308 sizer included
So one day, I discovered Sota Arms was making AR-15 barrels in 7.62x39 chambering that were .308 and had a 1-10 twist. And they were on sale for $99. I have a set of old Lyman 7.62 x39 dies with the .308 sizer and expander.
With H-322 and Accurate 1680 I can easily get 2,400- 2,500 fps with the 150s.

In effect you can have a AR-15 in 30-30 with a 10 round straight box magazine, that has 100% function. Plus shoots MOA at 100. With a bolt, barrel and mag change. Not bad for an inexpensive and effective quick handling hog rifle. This is one, oh and you can shoot 7.62x39 in a pinch.

Yep, very similar, I have a ARP TAC 30 barrel built gun also and they are about 100 fps different. But I do not like the 1-11.25 twist ARP setup. I had the 357 and 30 Herrett dies already for TCs, so was an easy decision to build.

The 30x39 does have the ability to shoot the military 7.62x39 cheapo stuff.

So forgive me but what case does it use with that .308 bullet? This sounds interesting

    I get it!

Plenty more options in bullet selection in .308 diameter bullets.

As far as pushing the .310-.311 size commercial/military off the shelf ammoes (7.62x39) down the tube,,,,,,wondering if that .002-.003 increase in diameter has a pressure spike that stays within sammi safety standards?
