    Well,

I don't know what to say other than this is the biggest deer I've shot antler wise I suppose! I have two 10 points on the wall. But they are not as wide or as tall. And I have shot a 208 lb deer that is mounted on my wall too and he's an eight point. But he's not as wide as this one either! And all my shoulder mounted deer are from private land! That is about to change! This one is getting the full shoulder job!

Got set up in Blackwater early yesterday afternoon. Was in the stand by 12:30pm.

At 2pm, I had a big buck pushing a doe through some thick stuff, but couldn't get a shot off at him. It was quiet until 4:45 when this dude came running full speed into an opening! Had to shoot him on the run at about 80-90 yards! He piled up just out of my sight!

I'm still smiling on this harvest!

Great score! I still have yet to get one. Flordia is much better on the wma land. Stupid alabama only has 3 (I think) gun weekend's, and you dont want to be within 3 miles of the place. Bows whole season.

Great deer . . AND . . on public land (WMA).
Double congrats on this fine deer. --- SAWMAN

Public land deer being any size is a trophy no matter the size to me. But for it to be a real (no crap) trophy size that I'm going to shoulder mount from public land, I'm still stoked!

This one is a Remington 700 in 30-06. Scope is a Bushnell Elite 3-9x50. Shooting 150gr Remington Hyper-sonic bonded rounds. Same type deal as the Hornady Superformance rounds. Proprietary powder blend to get about 200 FPS more at the barrel and flatter trajectory. I chrono'd the rounds and it's pushing them out of the 26" barrel just above 3000 FPS. Cooking it for a 30-06. Sighted in at 200 yards. Pretty flat from 1 to 200 yards. Only drops about 2.5 inches at 300 yards.
