    In a 6" it is like shooting a 357Mag.
Bad thing is almost no choice of bullets. 110gr is pretty standard. Round nose lead for hunting. FMJ for . . . . ??
    30carbine is different . . . BUT ?? ---- SAWMAN

I had one once, wish I had held on to it..... there are some jacketed soft nose rounds out there, PPU, & sellier & bellot , maybe some Remington still.

The only other .30 carbine pistol I can remember is the Automag III.
Semi-auto helped the recoil, but it was still a lively shooter!

A buddy of mine had one and I remember it being very loud.
If I’m not mistaken, it brings a premium over other calibers.

30 cal carbine - - -> (IMO) - - -> It is an ok chambering but that's it. In a pistol or revo it is surely nothing special. Even in that small 30cal M1 carbine " pistol" it is ho-hum.
In the full length rifle it is a better round than some of the other pistol chamberings. But then . . . so is the 357 Mag.
As mentioned above,it is loud coming out of pistol length bbls. The Ruger and the AMT are different and more costly because of that difference. I would like to have the AMT. I have a buddy that HAD one. It was mostly efficient and accurate. A few feeding problems but that was due to the crimp (or lack of) at the case mouth. Some brands worked great, some were not.
As I see it,the main problem with the 30cal carbine round is the lack of bullets available for use. This, due to their weight,OAL,and nose profile. The carbine using the 110gr FMJ works great. Using the 110gr round nose lead works good. ---- SAWMAN
