    2000 Ford Explorer - I need a Mechanic!
I just bought a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT. In typical Ford tradition, it has several electrical issues / challenges. Probably loose connectors, etc.

I would rather pay a individual for their expertise than to go to a dealership.

Is there anyone out there that has "been there / done that" that I could pay for their help?

If not: Any recommendations where to take it for repair?

    Appreciate any suggestions or help!

    Olde Joe

1)EGR engine light, verified by Advance Auto. 2) Cannot shut off "Auto lock". Reset doesn't seem to work 3) "5 chimes" after starting and running - airbag signal!? or seat connection??? 4) Driver's side door handle doesn't work unless the window is down. 5) slight sporatic engine miss... could be EGR issue? or tune-up. Has a 5.0 V8 engine.

my mechanic is an expert on fords, as well as other brands, he works from his home, a one bay shop, when you are in the shop, you are the only one he works on until done..

In Pensacola off of michigan, pm me if you want his name,#,

you may have to leave it with him, be ready for that. long way to come..no good wrench twisters over in gulf breeze?

I had an electrical problem in my 96 F150. . It was readily fixable, but it would have been fixed a lot sooner by specialist in fords. I figure out where there burnout part was, but since we did not know why that blue box in my '96 f150 burned out the mechanic went through the entire system to make sure. it was just that blue box that controls air bags. apparently it commonly goes out and is now hard to find. I found the burn out area my self by smelling the area.
having knowledge is important in fixing something.
