Looking to put together a ball mill for making some black powder for my flintlock, as well as some other pyrotechnic stuff, rocket engines etc... Nothing illegal of course, that you know of.

Where might I be able to buy (Pensacola) some 69 caliber or so somewhat hard(ish) lead balls for mill media?

Would probably buy a few pounds worth, 5 maybe?

    :noidea:

I think I dont really want pure soft lead, rather some like wheel weight hardness, to resist wear and transfer of PB into my mixtures too much.

I know I could set up to cast my own, but don't want to step off into yet another hobby just yet. I have cast before, and when I get moved(inspired by the beekeeping hobby I picked up several years ago), will cast again to feed my 10MM collection.

Currently just looking to pay a fair price for a product.

AKA, stop me before I pick up another sidetrack hobby!

Your shooting results will be better with purchased black powder. I suggest if you make BP and also mill it to polished grains of the correct size that you do it in an outbuilding well distanced from home relative to fire. i would not do it, but life is determined by choices and those are up to you.
