Already breasted out the first one and made gumbo with the rest of it. Gonna have 6 breast pieces ready for the grill one afternoon with my satsuma marmalade for a glaze. Feel free to send all your ducks to me and i will dispose of them lol

Wood duck is the only duck worth eating around here! They are a pretty bird and dang fun to shoot too! Good job!

I think anyone that doesnt like rare or medium rare beef isnt going to like duck. I seared the filets from one for dinner in butter and olive oil. Salt and pepper only since i wanted my wife and daughter to try it along with some dove breast. They werent a fan of the dove, but the wood duck was a hit. And my wife is a tree hugging not too much of a meat eater!

I thought at first woodcock, but those are nicknamed timber doodles and there used to be a couple in my creek, but I have not seen one in years locally.

Thanks for that. Forgot all about the "timber doodles" nickname.
Some Mainers but mostly people from north of Mass. called them by that nicknane.
Just like . . . do you know the difference between a partridge and a grouse ?? IIRC - - -> a grouse was shot in the air. A partridge was shot on the ground. (same bird) ---- SAWMAN
