WTB H&R Handi or Classic rifle, or barrel alone, in 45 Colt. Anyone having one sitting idle let me know. Buy or perhaps we can work out a trade if you prefer.

    I have been into Handi's for quite a few years now. I have owned a bunch (probably 12-15) over the last 25 years+. Some I willingly sold,some I reluctantly sold,some I still own (7).
Some have been inaccurate. A 22-250 heavy bbl comes to mind. It was a 4MOA gun. A 223Rem was a little better but not much. A 25-06 was a great shooter (1.75MOA).
Thinking on it,it seems that the larger the bore, the better they shot. A 308Win that I owned would shoot MOA out to 200 or so with some judicious tinkering directed by a couple Handi GURU's.
Nowadays my 45-70,444Marlin,and 500S&W will all cut the same hole at 50.
They have all been worked over by me as far as the locking system, bbl "floating" and triggers. YES . . TRIGGERS !! This, without removeing the trigger assembly. They are <4lbs as per my digital gauge.
Still cannot understand why they quit making them. They were MUCH cheaper than the T/C Contenders or Encore systems and shot almost as good.
Just remembered also - -> I have another Handi in the back of my safe. It was a Survivor model. Chambered in 223Rem. I put a youth stock on it,changed the forearm to a regular one,and had the bbl chopped to 18 inches. Haven't seen that gun in years now.
    I also have a converted 300BLK ACC edition. 1:7 twist . . Youth stock . . Survivor fore end . . Surefire ratchet type brake for a can. Shoots <.500 at 50. --- SAWMAN

Ray, you might want to consider taking a 45LC bbl on out to a 460S&W Mag chamber. That way you could shoot all three if needbe.
Although . . . a 454Casull puts out all the power you should ever need, especially coming out of a longer bbl,in a strong action. Was just thinking for the longer ranges the extra vels of the 460 might come in handy. --- SAWMAN

Yeah, you will need a real gunsmith type gunshop for that.
Give Pensacola Lock & Gun a call. Talk to Rick if he is there. He just might have one. If not,I know that he can do the work. --- SAWMAN
