Finely got all my parts. Assembled last night. Using magwell adaptor and colt ASC mags. Upper is an alpha industries with weighted bolt. Installed heavy 9mm buffer. Standard PSA lower from my 5.56 truck gun. Manually cycling the bolt, rounds feed and eject. Put a Triton truglo on it. Test fire today. Mags are loaded with 115gr, steel cased, brass and aluminum hps. Have a PSA upper with 16 inch barrel as well. We'll see how it does.

Shot good, except for the poly mag and the aluminum hp's. Cycled and fed brass and steel rounds. Fast as I could pull the trigger. No abnormal wear on the bolt but some scuffs on the mags. Starting off the mags had to be slapped to seat, after 100 rounds the asc mags go right in easy. Might be a burr in the bolt stop. I'll look tonight. Very pleased with it. Shooting at 25 yards about as fast as I could get it on target. Looks like the 9mm needs the heavy buffer in addition to the heavy bolt. Recoil was pretty light and no pogo sounds from the buffer.

Tried the 16 inch psa upper, with the same bolt, fed and shot. It did not like the hp's eather nor the poly mag. Noticed it has a feed ramp where the 5 inch does not. All the fail to feed were with the poly mag. Not bad for a $20 PROMAG adapter off ebay! :)

    Not a scuff, its oil.

Pulled it all apart. Cleaned it all up. Everything looks good. Small burr on the mag catch/release, I'll have to put about 2 file strokes on the adapter and it should be good. Now I need a other lower for my truck gun! To install the magwell adapter you have to knock out the bolt stop pin.
Very pleased with this setup. 32rd mags are 13.50? from J&G surplus. Will probably get a muzzle device for it, and a proper fitting handguard and scope for the 16 inch upper. Need to try subsonic rds and see if it will cycle.

IDK brother, but I always use gun grease on a new build for break-ins. I've not yet built a 9mm (yet), waiting on you guys to find all the faults first. But I do recall seeing where they need the heavier buffer, maybe thats what got you?

This bolt has a weight pinned into it, but after reading up on them I went ahead and spent the $20 bucks for the 9mm buffer, it must be 5 oz at least. Action is smooth with no buffer pogo/slap. Using the standard spring.(5.56) Good firm recoil, more I'd say than 5.56. Also safety glasses are a good idea, some blow by from the bolt. I'm really liking it. I'll shoot tomm. I want to try the 147gr subs and see if it cycles.

Been using the rem oil for years. Slather it up and it seems to dry up but leaves a film on the parts. These uppers and bolt were used so no breakin needed. Never used grease before, what type is used?

Don't ask me questions so I won't have to lie, but it's made by TM, I think? I'll use synthetic on bolt too if my brother is out of the other stuff. I also use gun oil to thin it out if I've put too much in it. And it gets a thorough cleaning afterward. But I'm thinking your buffer was too light for it, bc they make a buffer specifically for the 9mm and it's heavier, thinking 5.2 or so ounces.

Shot jacketed 147gr and hp 147gr. Would cycle the fmj but not cock the hammer. Hps are a nogo would not feed. So looks like it's a fmj only shooter. That's ok by me, just a fun gun anyway. I'm guessing a lighter buffer would work for the 147gr. Subsonics. Bullet profile must be critical for this setup.

Hoping PSA has a black friday deal on the sba3 pistol lowers!
