Looking to get a decent gun safe. Nothing over 700 pounds. Something along the lines of a Liberty FatBoy Jr.

Not looking for a tractor supply special or something you bought on clearance from Walmart so Stack-On is out the window.

    Budget is about $1500

Funny that you should mention tractor supply.

I would suggest going out and searching sites that talk about true safe security. You would be amazed at how easy it is to get into some of these safes especially the sub 2000.00 ones. Whatever you get be sure to bolt it to the structure so they can't just dolly it out. Just think about you are about to consolidate your entire gun collection (and in some cases wealth if you add jewelry, silver, gold and other valuables) into one very conspicuous location. Cheap is not what you want protecting that.

While I hear what you are saying, there are plenty of 11 gauge safes with 4-side bolt coverage that are within my target budget. But yes. Bolt her down or it’s just cute wrapping for the right perp.

something else to consider is weight if you have a raised floor. Residential raised flooring is designed to hold 600# in a 3' sq area. Additional joist support will be needed.

    SecuRam E-Locks are problematic.
