No idea how long it had been like this. We take him lunch just about every day and my wife brought this home yesterday before church. He knows I've been layed up and cleaning guns. He was over the other day watching me fiddle with the scope on the 300.
I'll talk to him about leaving the rifle alone, I'll loan him my ruger mk2 in 30-06 or my 45 colt revolving carbine (get your western on! Lee VanClefe style) if he wants to shoot something scoped. From talking to him it's a 70's model 94. It's a very nice levergun.

Yup, turning the windage for the elevation and elevation for the windage will keep it all out of wack.

If he/you keep a fwd mount: a pistol scope would probably be a better choice for the eye to ocular lens distance and resulting fuller view and eliminate that imposed thick black tunnel view.

“Where theres a will there’s a way” as the saying goes.

Perhaps he was on to something turning the scope like that if there were more clicks windage than there were elevation if he was needing more or less elevation adjustment.
    (I know I know,,ha-ha)

Nontheless,,,,,A salute to the old Fella’s craftyness!

I talked him out of mounting a scope on it. Told him if he wanted to shoot using a scope he could borrow my m77 mk2 30-06 it just sits in the rack collecting dust. He was very pleased with that.
