Figured I'd follow the advice given by y'all. Vortex crossfire ii 1x4x24 w/firefly red dot reticle. It just has a small red dot in the middle when on. May need a higher mount, shoot and see. Thanks for the input.

Good lord sir. No way is that gonna work.
As many past threads indicate . . . you need to get that scope up to 1.00" +. 1.25-1.40" would be even better.

Yeah - OP, I’d ditch those rings and get a one piece mount, then mount it on the upper receiver itself. You might run into accuracy issues with one ring mounted on the upper and the other on the handguard. A lot of companies make one piece 30mm mounts. I’d look at Aero Precision if you’re on a budget and need the extra eye relief like you have it set up now.

Burris PEPR makes a 30mm 1" offset cantilever mount that would work well. 20190930_163440.jpg

Good observation Frank. Yes it is.
That is not condusive to good accuracy.
Possibly a Burris P.E.P.R. or Extreme Tactical Extra High 30mm. ---- SAWMAN

This hurts my heart. Like has already been said, you need a 1 piece cantilever mount.

I've got a Burris pepr, not the qd version, it's got both the smooth and the pic tail top rings. I've got about a mag and a half shot with it mounted. I'll ship it for $50

I did not realize how long the eye relief was on this scope. Probably have to mount it differently.

Got the mount in the mail today. Wow, very nice thanks!

Now the next question. In the instructions it says do not over tighten and set to x INCH pounds. How do I gauge this without a 40 dollar driver?

How's this? :) scopes not tight yet, still checking eye relief. Dont want to have to hunt for picture. Mount is not touching forward rail, about 1/4 inch from it. Big thanks to Jack's guns for the great deal on the mount. Way better. As luck would have it I had bidded on a weaver mount on feebay and of course won it. So now I have an extra for the next project.
I'll get it mounted and shoot. Played with the scope just about dark and was impressed with how much light it picks up for only having a 24mm forward lense. This my first over 75 dollar scope, you fellas were right about the $$$=better. Tku

    That's much mo betta...

Scopes/optics are definitely something that you get what you pay for... just wait til you look through a high end LPVO, like a nightforce or kahles... it'll ruin you. Lol.
