County workers will get $1 an hour raise if sales tax passes

The sales tax issue is heating up

In the next few days, I will post some information from a public records request that was fulfilled today concerning the $1 per hour raises for all Santa Rosa county employees "contingent upon" the passing of the upcoming local option sales tax as stated in a recent PNJ article

The raise for county employees is in the budget, not contingent on the sales tax vote.

    response
    C. that is not what was portrayed in the PNJ article we have already discussed. They have weaponized the employee base to be at thier defense, which is a good stratagy! The problem is if this tax does't pass, thier 3 year phase in of the raises will be killed DOA at next years budget negotiations and we will still be without impact fees that could free up general fund dollars to continue the raises. The $ for raises is always contingent upon money in the budget to fund them. Like i said tho, this isnt about the raises, its about lost vs. Impact fees. Lets not make it about the employees who i am sure work hard, for the most part.

Hmm, ^^^ That's Funny ^^^ since the Flier they mailed out states under FSS: 212.055, says the Sales Tax CANNOT be used to pay for Salaries, Pensions, etc.

Someone, Somewhere is Blowing Smoke up the unwary citizen's ass to help pass this Tax Scheme.

2019 is an off year and so any elections are special and typically most voters do not vote. If they can induced all of the county employees to turn out to vote yes on the LOST sales tax that could nail it for them. Ex-sheriff w hall has come out publicly for it and a lot from businesses in the next county are sending in money to push for the sales tax in Santa Rosa County, FL.

Yup, saw in the TV ad that Hall wants others such a prostitutes to pay the extra money in sales tax. Gee, I didn't know we had that many so as to generate a significant amount of money to pay for all of the things that we are going to get with the extra LOST dollars

Has Hall LOST his mind or is he becoming senile!

Apparently the housing boom is not helping the value of currently lived in homes that in some cases are going down price. A glut of new homes, crowded schools and roads is not a formula for maintaining the value of currently owned residential property.
